Thanks for this.  Who would have thought something as useless as Python is ranked higher than, say, Perl? Surprising also to see Ruby dropping.

Actually I kind of expected that, since a lot of the scripts in Linux and Unix that were written in Perl where ported to Python plus every. You are the first person I run into that prefers Perl over Python in quite some time.
